Task Two (AO3)

You are now required to undertake and analyse the results of primary and secondary market research which will inform your marketing proposal for your new product/service. In order to achieve the best results you need to go through the following stages:

Task 1 - Research Methods

• Explain possible sources of information, both
primary and secondary.

• Create a
research action plan and decide which methods of research to use to collect the information required. You need to use a range of techniques i.e. focus groups, questionnaires, mintel reports, web sites etc?

Task 2 - Primary Research

Create a questionnaire. Remember the questionnaire needs to be based on your target audience i.e. for cosmetics aimed at 21-25 year olds it is no good asking 39 year olds!

How to structure your analysis!

1. Why did you ask the question?
2. What did you find out? Use mean, medium, mode and %'s within your answers.
3. Explain which P this will help you with
4. Explain how this analysis will help you with your marketing


Task 3 - Secondary Research

1. Obtain industry data -
Keynote is a good example (executive summaries are free). Explain how this information will help your 4P's.
2. Construct a mood board that analyses each of your competitors marketing strategy (4P's)
3. Analyse the results of your secondary research and explain how each element will help your marketing strategy.
