Task 1
You are now ready to start working to prepare and carry out the recruitment and selection package for your selected business and job role.
Firstly, decide the job role that you are going to interview potential candidates for. You are required to prepare rough drafts of the following documents:
o an advertisement for the position;
o a person specification (example 1, example 2)
o a job description;
o ideas about how potential applicants should apply with supporting documentation – e.g. a draft application form;
o letters inviting candidates to interview;
o interview documentation (equal opportunities forms, interview questions, selection criteria, interview assessment forms); *Remember your selection criteria and interview techniques must address the person specification and job description.
o interview tasks;
o letters to inform successful/unsuccessful applicants.
Task 2
To help you produce the above, you need to collect and
analyse other business documents and use any examples of
good practice when designing your own. There must be
evidence of this analytical process in your work as you
question whether documents are fit for purpose and whether
they meet the legal framework that covers all human
resources activity. Use this analysis annotation template
to help you
with this process.
Task
3
Now you have analysed other recruitment and selection
documents, describe in your own words how and why you have
decided on the final versions.
Now you can plan the interview. The group needs to consider
the following points:
o shortlisting procedures;
o letters of invitation to be sent to successful
applicants;
o documents to be used to judge performance of applicants;
o questions to be asked;
o possible scenarios candidates could be asked;
o how is the panel going to work: who will ask what
questions, who is going to welcome the candidate to the
interview etc.;
o lay out of the interview room;
o dress code for the panel;
o answers to possible questions the applicants may ask the
panel
